Category 3 blackwater is a health hazard, not a cleaning job. Our Sewage Cleanup crews arrive in full PPE and follow IICRC S500 protocol from the first step, not just the parts that are convenient.

Containment goes up before extraction starts, because the goal isn't just removing the water, it's making sure contamination doesn't spread into rooms that were never affected.
None of this changes for a small job either — the same standard applies whether it's a single-room sewage cleanup call or a larger one.
We built this list around what typically goes wrong when sewage cleanup gets handled by a generalist instead of a specialist.
S500 governs PPE, containment, and disposal on every Category 3 call we take.
Technicians suit up in complete protective gear before entering any contaminated zone.
Disposal records are provided as part of your job file.
Sewage calls get priority dispatch given the actual health risk involved.
We don't treat sewage cleanup as a single generic task — each piece of the process below gets its own specific approach.
Water gets classified as Category 3 blackwater immediately, which sets the entire response protocol.
Extraction happens under full PPE with controlled disposal of the contaminated water.
Carpet, pad, and drywall that contacted blackwater are removed rather than dried in place.
Disinfection follows removal of unsalvageable materials, covering the entire affected zone.
Odor gets addressed through disinfection and controlled airflow, not masked with fragrance.
Final sign-off includes both moisture and contamination checks, not just one.
This is the same sequence every sewage cleanup job follows, regardless of size.
Dispatch gathers just enough detail to load the right equipment before the truck leaves.
Local staging is what makes rapid arrival possible, rather than a promise with nothing behind it.
The assessment sets the whole plan, so we don't rush it even when the visible damage looks minor.
A job isn't closed on a visual check — it's closed on a verified reading.
These reviews come from real sewage cleanup calls, not a curated highlight reel.
"They didn't rush disinfection even though it clearly slowed the job."
Genevieve K., Cape Elizabeth"Professional and thorough despite an unpleasant situation."
Silas D., Cape Elizabeth"They handled contamination classification and disposal paperwork for our insurance claim without us even having to ask."
Ines M., Cape Elizabeth"A backup in our restaurant kitchen got same-day response given the health code concerns, and they understood the urgency immediately."
Bartholomew F., Cape ElizabethIf your question about sewage cleanup isn't covered here, call +1-844-578-1604 and we'll walk you through it directly.
Our sewage cleanup coverage spans 4107, with crews positioned to reach any address in the service area quickly.
Coverage extends past the immediate area, so an outlying Cape Elizabeth address isn't treated as a lower priority for sewage cleanup.
If you're unsure whether your address falls in our sewage cleanup service area, just call — we'll confirm quickly rather than making you guess.
